Kay Scanlon is the art director for the Los Angeles Times Weekend section as well as its Food content across platforms. Prior to joining The Times in 2021, she was the art director at MovieMaker magazine and contributed award-winning design at the Orange County Register, Los Angeles Daily News and Newsday. Scanlon was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs, graduated from UCLA with a bachelor’s degree in English and is certified in graphic design from Otis College of Art and Design.
